Window Tint Aftercare: What to Expect After Your Install

Thanks for choosing Platinum Detail! Your new film needs a few days to fully cure to the glass. Follow these simple steps and your tint will look great for years.

Keep your windows rolled up for 3–5 days. Rolling them down too early can catch the edge of the film before it has bonded.

For the first few days you may see a slight haze or small water pockets under the film. That’s normal while the film dries. If anything doesn’t clear up, call or text us at 248-260-7126 and we’ll take a look.

Window Tint FAQ

Front two windows take about an hour. Most full cars take 2–3 hours, and most trucks are done in about 90 minutes.

Both look great and won't fade to purple. Ceramic blocks noticeably more heat and has no signal interference, so it's the best choice for comfort in Michigan summers.

Yes. Every tint job comes with a written lifetime warranty covering bubbling, peeling and fading. You'll get a warranty sheet to keep in your glove box.

Wait 3–5 days so the film can fully cure.

Michigan has specific rules for the windshield and front side windows (see our Michigan tint law guide). We'll go over the rules and your shade options with you before we start, so you can make the right choice for your vehicle.

Yes. We remove old, bubbling or purple tint cleanly, including the adhesive, and can install new carbon or ceramic film the same visit.

Wait 3–5 days after your install before rolling your windows down. This gives the film time to bond to the glass so the edges don't catch or peel. A little haze or a few small water pockets in the first few days is normal while the film dries.
